SAY ‘BYE’ TO ALL THE SIDES EFFECT ASSOCIATED WITH EXCESS MANGOES INTAKE WITH THE MAGICAL INDIAN BLACK BERRY (JAMUN) DURING THIS SUMMMER

Mango is the ” KING OF ALL FRUITS “. When summer set in, then there will be arrival of delicious, sweet, yummy, healthy and juicy mangoes in Pakistan. It is quite impossible to stop yourself from eating delicious and sweet mangoes in this hot and humid weather. Mangoes is packed with many useful nutrients and exhibits many health benefits and it is considered very effective fruit for raising blood counts. On contrary to these benefits, eating too much mangoes in summer can lead to skin problems like urticaria, pimples and boils. The reason behind is that mangoes is high glycemic index fruit which raise the blood sugar level rapidly. As a result of it, there is also increase level of insulin and IGF-1 hormone (insulin like growth factor) which ultimately stimulate sebaceous gland and lead to production of sebum (oil) and cause acne, pimples and others skin problems.

Unlike mangoes jamun is perfect antidiabetic fruit because it has very low glycemic index and is helpful in conversion of carbohydrates into energy which ultimately prevent sudden spike of blood sugar level. The seeds of jamun increases insulin secretion or increases insulin availability by preventing it from fast degradation. It is very common practice in Pakistan that diabetic patients are advice to take the jamun daily for their sugar control.

Unlike mangoes jamun reduces acne by purifying blood and by acting as natural astringent. Jamun is rich in vitamin C which act as antioxidant and very helpful in keeping skin healthy, clear and wrinkles free. Vitamin C is also helpful in maintaining good oral hygiene.

Jamun is rich in fiber and possess antibacterial properties which is helpful in improving digestion. It increases appetite. It reduces acidity and proven to be effective in ulcers. It also improves liver health.

100gm of jamun contain 55mg of potassium which can play a key role in maintaining heart health.

IMMUNITY
